Kissing is for Bestfriends

"Do you like my picture Kairi?" Sora said with a huge goofy grin on his face. The redhead smiled and nodded. The small seven year old had drawn a picture of three stick figures all holding hands.

"Can I see?" a silverette asked as he walked over to Kairi and Sora on the playground.

Sora lifted up the picture and pointed to the first figure, "This is you, this is Kairi, and this is me in the middle!" the small brunette shouted.

The eight year-old smiled at his best friend and giggled, "I love it Sora."

Kairi frowned and tapped Sora on the shoulder. "I love it too Sora. Even more than Riku. In fact I love it so much I am going to give you a kiss!" the redhead shouted with excitement.

Sora stared at her confused. "But Kairi, I thought mommies and daddies are suppose to kiss. We aren't mommies and daddies."

"Nuh-uh!" Riku argued. "My brother Zexion isn't a mommy or daddy and he kisses. He said he kisses Demyx because Demyx is his best friend."

Kairi nodded in agreement. "So we should kiss." She said with a smile.

The seven year-old brunette looked from Kairi to Riku with even more confusion. "But I thought Riku was my best friend?"

Kairi frowned and looked at Riku, "Why is he your best friend and not me?" She said pointing at the silverette and scowling.

"Because I met Riku first. I has knows Riku since birf. I has only knows you since pregarten." Sora said matter-of-factly.

Riku giggled, "Preschool not pregarten Sora."

"Oh right, preschool." The brunette said quietly.

"See? Riku is a meany. Why would you want to be friends with a meany!?" the redhead shouted.

"He is not mean! Riku helps me say right words! Right Riku!?" the brunette countered.

Riku nodded and stood up, "Come on Sora. Let's go to the beach."

Sora nodded at Riku and stood up next to him. "Bye Kairi." He mumbled angrily, then followed Riku to the beach.

Kairi huffed and walked over to the swings to complain to Selphie.

Sora and Riku walked to the beach in silence. When they arrived on the shore Sora tapped Riku on the shoulder, "Hey Riku? If me and you are best friends, does that mean we should kiss? Like Zexion and Demyx?"

Riku blushed and looked at his best friend."We don't have to kiss, only if we wants to." He said quietly into Sora's deep blue eyes.

Sora gulped his nervous gulp that Riku would come to know as his way of preparing for an important question, "Do you want to?" he whispered.

Riku thought for a moment before he answered. "Do you want to?" he whispered back.

Sora frowned, "I asked you first!" he shouted, not wanting to answer the question.

Riku frowned and crossed his arms, "I asked you second!" he countered.

Sora couldn't think of a comeback so he huffed and sat down, crossing his arms and legs in defiance.

Riku kneeled in front of the brunette and pecked him on the lips. Sora opened his eyes wide in shock and blushed deep red. He lifted his fingers to touch his now tingling chapped lips.

Riku blushed and looked away,but felt a soft kiss on his cheek and turned to face his best friend again, who now held a huge goofy grin on his face.

Riku smiled and grabbed Sora's hand and they both sat there side-by-side, watching the sunset.
